W.P. Franklin North Campground is located on a island in the middle of the beautiful Caloosahatchee River and near to W.P. Franklin Lock and Dam. The campground has a pleasant tropical vibes and 30 Class A campsites (electric hookups). There area also 8 cruiser (boat) sites with water & electric hookups.
The campground is open year round. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp and courtesy dock. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). Each site also has electric hookups, a table, fire ring and grill. The Boat sites also have water hookups.
In addition to watching boats pass by on the Okeechobee Waterway, there are also a variety of outdoor recreation activities. Visitors can enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, picnicking, biking and wildlife viewing. W. P. Franklin South Recreation Area (picnic / day use) is also nearby.
