Don Carter State Park Overview

Don Carter State Park campground has 58 campsites and it is the only state park next to beautiful Lake Lanier.  The Chattahoochee River is also nearby.

The campground has 44 spacious sites with electric hookups that can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are also primitive (tent only) sites and 8 cottages are available.

Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, laundry facilities, a dump station and trash collection. There is also a playground, boat ramps, swim beach, fish cleaning station, gift shop, picnic pavilions and outdoor fitness equipment.  Boat rentals are also available at the visitors center.
