Hamburg State Park campground has 32 spacious campsites on the shores of Hamburg Lake (all have electric hookups). All but a few of the campsites are right on the water. There is also one group camping area and one pioneer camp. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, showers, laundry, a dump station, playground and picnic/day use areas. Pets are allowed (on a leash).
Our favorite Hamburg State Park campsites are: 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27 and 30.
The 741-acre Hamburg State Park is home to the Hamburg Grist Mill (still operational) and other historic sites. Additional outdoor activities include boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, biking, geocaching, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
A. H. Stephens State Park is another option and is located about 35 miles north. A.H. Stephens has mostly equestrian campsites, but also has 5 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. Cottages are also available for rent.

Are pets allowed
Hi Bonnie,
Yes, pets are allowed at Hamburg State Park. They need to be on a leash though.
What are daily limits on fish? I’m sure it’s different from regular daily limits as far as Georgia regulations.
Hello Johnny,
The daily limits for fishing in Georgia and/or at Hamburg State Park vary by fish. You can get this info by visiting the Georgia Game Species Daily Limits website by clicking HERE.
Wonderful, quiet, and spacious sites! I love working here! Swimming is not allowed however because of alligators. Signs are posted throughout the park. Please correct in your activities paragraph. Thanks!
