Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park Overview

Lake Kolomoki

Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park campground has 25 campsites (with electric hook ups) and is located on the shore of Lake Kolomoki. Campsites 1-11 are waterfront! The rest of the campsites are located within close proximity of the lake.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. All of the campsites are large with nice space in between. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Group camping is also available.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers ($). There’s also a boat ramp, museum, gift shot, playground and WiFi available at the park office.

Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park – Recreation & Info

The park is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States. The Park features Georgia’s oldest great temple mound, reaching a height of 57 feet. There are also two smaller burial mounds and several ceremonial mounds.

Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park also has diverse natural and cultural areas throughout its 1,293 acres. Outdoor recreation activities include boating, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking, miniature, golf, swimming, water sports, wildlife viewing and camping.
