Mokins Bay Overview

Mokins Bay is a small campground (15 sites) in a forested area and is near the eastern shore of Hayden Lake in northwest Idaho. Mokins Slough (in the lake) is a short walk from the campground.

The campground is generally open mid May to early September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is poor in the area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a paved parking spur (20 to 40 feet), table, fire ring and grill.

Other campgrounds in the general area include Honeysuckle (Group), Beauty Creek and Bumblebee.

Mokins Bay Campground – Area Recreation and Activities

Wildflowers like trillium and buttercups thrive in the springtime, creating a stunning backdrop for campers. Hayden Lake boasts a 40-mile shoreline with a surface area of 3,800 acres. Outdoor recreation includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, water sports, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
