Point (ID) Campground Sawtooth National Forest Idaho

Point (ID) Overview

Point Campground has 17 campsites set in a lodgepole pine forest on the west side of beautiful Redfish Lake at an elevation of 6,500 feet. The campground is best suited for tent camping (trailers and motorhomes not allowed). Camper Vans (under 20 feet) are okay. Sites 1 to 8 are walk-to (tent only).

The popular campground is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. There’s also a nice sandy beach and picnic area next to the campground. A dump station and boat rentals area available at Redfish Lake Lodge and a boat ramp is located on the east shore of the lake. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is fair in the area. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Public showers ($) and a laundry ($) are are also nearby at 50 Horstman Drive (aka NF Dev Road 413).

Point Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Sockeye, Glacier View, Mount Heyburn, Chinook Bay, Mountain View and Outlet.
