Smokey Bear Campground has 12 first-come first-serve campsites and is located next to beautiful Alturas Lake in the Sawtooth National Forest. There are 8 single family campsites and 3 double-sites. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and a boat ramp. A group picnic area is also located on the east side of the campground.

Smokey Bear – Area Recreation

Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation including fishing, boating, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking and mountain biking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.

North Shore campground and Alturas Lake Inlet campground are also located next to Alturas Lake.
