Beaver Dam State Park Campground has 94 single-family campsites in a nicely wooded area for tents, trailers and RVs (66 with electric hookups). There are also 18 tent sites and 1 cabin for rent. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. Group camping is also available.

The campground has a playground, archery range, dump station, flush toilets and showers. A full-service restaurant is also available at the Park.

The 750-acre park in Central Macoupin County and offers a variety of outdoor recreation activities including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, archery, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  Cross country skiing is also popular here in the winter months.

Pere Marquette State Park also has a nice campground with 87 sites. It is about 47 miles from Beaver Dam State Park.
