Moraine View State Recreation Area has two campgrounds with a total of 159 campsites. Both campgrounds are located in a wooded area and next to Dawson. Most campsites are reservable, but some campsites are first-come, first-serve. Group and equestrian camping are also available.
Gander Bay Campground has 137 Class A sites with electric and sewer hookups. Water (spigots) is available in several locations in the campground. There are 102 sites that can be reserved.
Catfish Bay Campground has 22 single-family campsites (no hookups) that can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Amenities include potable (drinking water), flush toilets, showers and a dump station. The recreation area also has three playgrounds, a restaurant, marina, kayak rentals, beaches, mixed-use trails, a boat launch and picnic areas/shelters.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating (10 HP or less), canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You can also enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling during the winter.
