Dunewood Campground Indiana Dunes National Park Indiana

Dunewood Overview

Dunewood Campground has 67 campsites and is located little more than a mile from Lake Michigan in Indiana Dunes National Park. Fifty three of the sites are developed (no hookups) for tents, trailers and RVs (some with limited size). There are also 13 walk-to primitive campsites (sites 55-67). Campsites 1-34 are in the Mather Loop and sites 35-67 are in the Douglas Loop.

Campground amenities include drinking water, modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot-water showers, a dump station and trash collection. Cell coverage is good in the area. Convenience stores and a gas station are located 1/4 mile north of the campground at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Broadway Ave. in the town of Beverly Shores.

Dunewood Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Indiana Dunes National Park hugs 15 miles (24 km) of the southern shore of Lake Michigan and offers a variety of outdoor recreation. Visitors can enjoy hiking, beach combing, biking, horseback riding, swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, birding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
