Canning Creek Cove campground has 43 campsites and is located next to the 3,310-acre Council Grove Lake in the green expanses of eastern Kansas. Council Grove Lake sits in the rolling, grassy prairie of east Kansas, known as the Flint Hills.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are 36 sites with electric hookups. Group campsites are also available (with water/electric hookups). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. There’s also a playground, boat ramp and picnic shelter at the campground. Cell service is good in the area.
Outdoor recreation activities include boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water sports, hiking, biking, hunting, and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice here.
You may also be interested in Santa Fe Trail campground. Cross Timbers State Park is also nice (down in Woodson County).
