Wilson State Park has 208 spacious campsites and is on the south side of Wilson Lake in the Smoky Hills of North Central Kansas. Group camping and 8 modern cabins are also available.
Otoe has 6 campgrounds with a total of 80 campsites (37 with water & electric and 43 primitive sites).
Hell Creek area has 12 campgrounds with 128 campsites (4 with full hookups, 49 with water & electric, 36 with electric and 39 primitive sites).
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Many have shade structures over the picnic tables.
Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, flush toilets, bathhouses (showers), trash collection and dump stations. There is also a marina, boat ramps, boat trailer lots, playgrounds, 4 large picnic shelters (reservable), a swim beach, hiking trails and mountain bike trails. Cell coverage is also good in the area.
Wilson Lake features a rugged shoreline punctuated by scenic cliffs and rocky outcrops. The park and surrounding wildlife area offer the opportunity to view and photograph deer, pheasant, waterfowl, songbirds, and furbearers. The lake also offers excellent white bass and striped bass angling.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water sports, swimming, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Other campgrounds in the general area include Minooka Park, Lucas Park, Sylvan Park and Venango Park.
