Chicot State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Chicot State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Chicot State Park?
Would like to have prices and availability of deluxe camp sites.
Hi Wesley,
Visit the Chicot State Park campground page and click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button. You’ll be able to check availability, pricing and make reservations for the cabins.
I want to bring my grandson’s for a two night tent camping trip. Can I tie off a tarp to trees over tent to help in case of rain? Can I bring my own canoe and use it in the lake? What are the rules on life jackets? I want my grandsons to be wearing one at all times in the canoe but do I need one, I am a very large man and hard to find one to fit me.
Hi Larry,
It’s best to check with the ranger on whether you can tie off a tarp to the trees at Chicot State Park. Some campgrounds allow it and others are a little more strict. You can call Chicot State Park at 337 363-2403. You can bring your own canoe to use in the lake. Per U.S. Coast Guard regulations, everyone must have a lifejacket when in a water craft (boat, canoe, kayak, etc.) on a body of water. Your grandchildren should wear there lifejackets (as you mentioned). It is optional for you to wear one, but you need to have it with you in the canoe.
