  1. Shawn Kornrumpf says:

Beautiful CG full of large majestic oak tree. Best during the fall, winter and spring to avoid the heat. Different types of sites available for those who want to be close to family/friends or who want a little distance from their neighbors. Close to shopping and restaurants and less than an hour to New Orleans.

  2. Camped there several times. First time we camped there the “WARDEN” as we called him gave us a hard time because we dumped a bucket of water on the grass. He said no grey water can be drained but it was a bucket that we washed some utensils in. Second time we went for thanksgiving and we had a great time. The only problem was the grass had all be dug up from an abundance of wild pigs. When I say no grass I mean mud every where around our sites. I am sure by now they took care of the problem.

  3. Michele Fos says:

Best place to end our road trip from up north in Indiana to Louisiana and home to Texas coast. The camp site was good, night-time critters get really loud. The day use part of the park is beautiful, lots of tables, a pier over the lake, a beach area, bathhouse was nice and clean. The old Oak trees are beautiful. Good place to take pictures 📷. We did go to the Cafe du Monde for Beignets and cafe a laites. And hit the snowball place in the afternoons. Wonderful place to stay on the Northside of the lake. We did go to the other side of the causway to the south to visit friends.

  4. David Frazier says:

I grew up cping at Fountainbleau. Many many fond memories of it, from the wild cows moving with the deer at night to the tree we called the Moose tree. The beach and the bath house. I spent hours as a child exploring the woods around the campground and across from the sugar mill . Made several friends and I do kot have a memory of Fountainbleau where it was a bad memory. Even when our car broke down right at the gate and had to use a uhaul truck as a camper because it began to storm that night. Rain or shine I love this place. I have since moved to Tennessee where I started my life all over and look forward to bringing the memories to life with the people that are a valuable part of my life now. My grandchildren are the last I gifted with on a 3 day camping trip many years ago. Maybe I can get them out to enjoy my next trip.

    • Hi David,
Thanks for sharing your memories of Fontainebleau State Park. Sounds like you’ve had many great times there. And I love you’re sharing your memories with the other special people in your life. I bet your grandchildren will come to love nature and the outdoors just like you.
