Pocomoke River State Park Campground has 175 campsites in 7 camping areas and is tucked away on Maryland’s lower eastern shore. Some sites have cabins and group camping is also available.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Electric hookups are available in the Acorn Trail, Deer Run and Robin’s Nest Loops. Some sites also have electric hookups at Shad Landing and Milburn Landing loops. Three backcountry campsites and a youth group site are also available in the Mattaponi Ponds camping area.
Park/campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers. dump station and trash collection. There’s also a camp store, swimming pool, picnic areas and pavilions, playground, kayak/canoe launch area, marina and nature center. Overflow parking is also available in the marina parking lot.

Pocomoke River State Park is well known for cypress swamps that border the Pocomoke River. The river originates in the Great Cypress Swamp in Delaware and flows southwesterly 45 miles to the Chesapeake Bay. The park provides a base for a vast array of outdoor and tourist activities including fishing, biking, birding, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.
