Mount Blue State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Mount Blue State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Mount Blue State Park?
We just got back this afternoon after spending a two nights at the park. The rangers were very nice, had lots of information about the area. Our site was very clean, as were the showers, bathrooms or as clean as can be with the public using them. The beach is very clean and my cousins great granddaughter loved swimming and collecting lake rocks. It rained for two days with some whopping thunder showers ,but we still enjoyed our vacation of two days. The most wildlife we saw was a chipmunk and red squirrel . We plan on going back next month if we can find a reservation.
we have a reservation soon! was it over crowded at the campsites? Is there any that you would recommend that is the most secluded?
thanks!
Hi Cristina,
Mount Blue State Park campground looks to be about 80% filled over the next few weeks with occupancy a little higher over the weekend. I recommend you check out the Mount Blue State Park Campground Map (button) to get an idea of sites that may be a little more secluded and then referencing the campsite photos. Have a great time!
I have a question about drinking water. I am coming with a trailer and wonder if I am able to attach a hose to the water spigot to fill the tank on my trailer?
Hi Rick,
You can fill up your trailers water tanks at the dump/sanitation station at Mount Blue State Park campground. I don’t think it’s allowed to connect a hose to a campground water spigot and fill up your tank.
are generators allowed at Mount Blue Campground?
Hi Lori,
Quiet in camping areas is required between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (and is encouraged during the day as sound travels). Generators in the campground can be operated only at designated times (roughly 8am to 9pm).
We have reservations for the first week of August and are interested in renting Kayaks for a day. Who do I call to set that up?
HI Stacey,
You can rent a kayak at the Mount Blue State Park Ranger Station. The kayaks are first-come, first-serve.
how much would it cost to rent a kayake all day!?
Hi Mary,
You can rent kayaks at the Ranger station (first-come, first-serve). I’m not sure if they have a daily rate, but I believe the hourly rate is $4.
We have reservations for mid-Sept.. Are there any dining places nearby? (Kawanhee Inn is closed at that time).
Hi Linda,
Brady’s Market & Diner over in Carthage might be an option, otherwise you’d probably need to go to Dixfield or Rumford.
