Colwell Lake Campground has 34 campsites and is located along the shoreline of the lake in the Hiawatha National Forest. Campsites #33 and #34 are ‘walk-to’ and campsite #35 is a group site. Sites 2, 3, 4 and 5 have electric hookups.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a picnic/day-use area, swim beach, boat ramp and fishing pier. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is fair in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area you may like include East Branch of Fox River, Bay Furnace and Little Beaver Lake Campground.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.
