East Branch of Fox River State Forest Campground has 19 single-family campsites that are next to the river and near Kings Pond. The beautiful rustic campground is first-come, first-serve and open year round. It also has many trees that provide shades to most campsites. The campground was originally a working fish hatchery from 1936 to the 1980s.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Amenities include potable drinking water (from hand-pump), vault toilets and trash receptacles. Cell service is poor in the area.
Fishing is a popular activity with opportunities to catch wild brook trout. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, hunting, picnicking, ATVing and wildlife viewing. Winter sports include snowmobiling.
Other campgrounds in the area includes Pictured Rocks National Seashore, Colwell Lake and Bay Furnace Campground.
