Lake Michigan At St. Ignace Overview

Lake Michigan (St. Ignace) Campground has 35 single-family campsites and is nestled in the sand dunes next to beautiful Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Many sites are great for tents (located in the 20 to 30 foot high dunes).  Other sites can accommodate trailers and RVs. Some are first-come, first-serve.

Campground amenities include drinking water, trash collection and vault toilets. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Cell service is fair in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

Visitors can enjoy hiking and exploring the ancient sand dunes (some up to 30-feet tall), fishing, swimming, kayaking, biking and horse back riding. Other activities in the area include picnicking, hunting and wildlife viewing. Campers at Lake Michigan also have access to the popular Sand Dunes Cross-Country Ski Trail, as well as the North Country National Scenic Trail.
