Pickerel Lake (Kalkaska) State Forest Campground has 13 primitive campsites and is located along the shores of Pickerel Lake and is 4.5 miles northwest of Oscoda.

Campsites can accommodate tents and small trailers/RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.  The campground is open year round and all campsites are first-come, first-serve. Amenities include drinking water (hand pump), vault toilets and trash collection.  A small (gravel) boat ramp is also next to the campground. Cell service is poor.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Pickerel Lake (Ostego) and Ostego Lake State Park.
