Bear Head Lake State Park campground has 73 campsites next to Bear Head Lake. Forty five (45) of the campsites have electric hookup (sites 25-72, but not sites #51 or #70). There are also 5 cabins for those that want a roof over there head. Group, primitive, backpack and canoe campsites are also available.
The campground has drinking water and some nice restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. There are also vault toilets available for the brave. Each campsite has a table, grill and fire ring.
Bear Head Lake State Park is located south of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and offers 23 miles of shoreline that can be explored by canoe or kayak with several lakes located in the Park. There are also plenty of other summer sport activities including fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, swimming, hiking, biking and wildlife viewing. Winter sports include snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Cascade River State Park is an other option. It’s located about 115 miles to the east and has 40 campsites. And you may also like Lake Vermilion – Soudan Underground Mine State Park.

There two families looking for a place to camp for Tuesday night the 26 of June and the 27. I am unable to find a place that says if you have any opening on where they are.
we are looking to be able to camp next to each other if possible.

Minnesota State Parks (like Bear Head Lake State Park) has a 14 consecutive day limit. Bear Head charges $25 per night for ‘drive in’ non-electric campsites and $35 per night for electric hookup sites. Canoe, backpack, cabins and guest house rates differ.
