Birch Lake Campground has 32 single-family campsites and is located along the shore of Birch Lake in the Superior National Forest. There are also 2 cabins and 14 back-country campsites available. Group camping is also available (up to 45 people).
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Many of the sites have space to land a boat and some can accommodate larger RVs. There are no pull-through sites. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include a solar powered well / hand-pump well for drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. The campground also has a boat launch/landing. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is fair.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Canoe rentals are also available.
Other campgrounds in the area include Fall Lake and South Kawishiwi River.
