Great River Bluffs State Park overlooks the Mississippi River and the main campground has 31 single-family campsites. There are also 4 rustic cart-in sites (tent only) and 5 bike-in sites.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 60 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available at any sites. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush & vault toilets, showers and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale at the park office. Cell service is good.
The 2,835-acre park has trails and goat prairies to explore, as well as 6 overlooks that provide great views of the Mississippi River and area. Visitors will see diverse plant communities including maple-basswood forests, old hickory, pines, goat prairies and old fields. Besides hiking, other activities include birdwatching, picnicking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and wildlife viewing.
