Red River State Recreation Area campground has 109 single-family campsites and is located in an urban setting close to the Red and Red Lake Rivers. There are 98 full hookup campsites and 3 with electric. There’s 4 walk-in sites and 1 group site.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush & vault toilets hot showers ($) and a dump station. There’s also a picnic area, playground, fishing pier, boat ramp and swimming beach. Free WiFi and firewood ($) are also available at the park.
The park is the site of the East Grand Forks neighborhood that was destroyed by flooding in 1997. The homes and other buildings have since been converted into a campground and recreation area along the Red and Red Lake Rivers. Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
