Big Spring Campground Ozark National Scenic Riverways Missouri

Big Spring Overview

Big Spring Campground has 135 campsites and is located along the beautiful Current River on the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways.  Cabins and 4 group campsites are also available. The campground is open year-round and 31 of the 125 sites have electric hookups.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (21 to 50 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection and a dump station. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. There’s also a ranger station, CCC dining lodge, picnic pavilion, boat ramp/access and an amphitheater. Cell service is good in the area.

Other campgrounds in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways include: Alley Spring, Akers, Pulltite, Round Spring and Two Rivers. You might also Timbuktu Campground in Echo Bluff State Park, Watercress or Webb Creek Park.

Big Spring Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, hunting and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.

Known for its caves, springs, sinkholes and losing streams, the Ozark National Scenic Riverways has over 300 identified caves within its boundaries. They range in size from a rock overhang to almost seven miles of identified passages.
