Silver Mines Overview
Silver Mines campground has 54 campsites and is next to the St. Francis River in the Mark Twin National Forest. The campground has four loops including Prospect, Riverside, Summit, and Spring Branch. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Seven of the sites have electric hookups. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Group campsites are also available.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is poor in the area.
Silver Mines – Area Recreation
The St. Francis River offers some nice whitewater for kayaking during the spring. Other outdoor recreation includes fishing, hiking, picnicking, swimming, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. You can also visit historic sites in the area.
