Piney Grove campground has 141 campsites and is located along the shores of Bay Springs Lake and the 234-mile Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in northeastern Mississippi. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. All of the campsites also have water & electric hookups, a table, lantern post and fire ring. Several campsites are also quite large and can accommodate RVs/trailers up to 62 feet.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. There’s also a flush toilets, laundry, a playground for the tots, a basketball court, picnic shelters, a boat ramp and amphitheater. Pontoon boat rentals are available at Bay Springs Marina. The marina is about 8.5 miles from the campground. A day-use/picnic area is also available at the Piney Grove Recreation Area. Cell service is fair in the area.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, water sports, swimming, hiking, biking, sunbathing, and picnicking. There’s also some nice wildlife viewing in the area.

Yes you can take a boat, canoe and kayak, etc. on the lake at Piney Grove.

Do you have to rent a spot to swim in the lake?

You don’t have to camp to enter/access the Piney Grove Recreation Area. There is a day-use/picnic area (fee required to enter), where you can fish, swim, etc.
