Avalanche campground has 87 single-family campsites set beneath old growth cedar and hemlock trees in Glacier National Park.
The very popular campground is generally open mid June to mid September. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. However, there are only 50 sites that will fit vehicle lengths up to 26 feet. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Amenities include potable water, flush toilets and trash collection. Cell service is not available in the area.
There are some great hiking trails in the are including Trail of the Cedars and also to Avalanche Lake. Wildlife viewing is fantastic and you can also check out many of the evening ranger programs at the Avalanche Amphitheater.
You may also like Rising Sun or Sprague Creek campgrounds.
