Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park Campground has 40 single-family campsites and is located near one of the most spectacular limestone caverns in North America. There are also 3 cabins and a tipi you can reserve.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Sites parking spurs range from 31 to 52 feet. Campsites D1, D2 and E3 (ADA) have 50-amp electric. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, vault & flush toilets, showers, trash collection, kennel and a dump station. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. The Park also has picnic areas, a playground and visitor center (gift shop). The camp host, dump station, shower, flush toilets and water are only available May through September. Cell service is good in the area.
If you stop here, you should definitely tour the limestone caverns. Guided cave tours are offered late May through September. Plan on taking 2 hours and hiking 2 miles during your tour. You can take the Classic Tour or Paradise Tour. Other recreation in the area includes canoeing, kayaking and fishing on the nearby Jefferson River. Picnicking and wildlife viewing are also popular.
