Lid Creek Campground is located on the west shore of Hungry Horse Reservoir, just south of the Canadian border and 23 miles southwest of Glacier National Park.
The campground has 23 single-family campsites that can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most have spectacular views and some have peaks of the water. It usually opens mid May and closes late September. Sites can be reserved, but first-come first-serve campsites are also available.
Campground amenities include vault toilets. There is no water, but drinking water is available at Lost Johnny Point Campground (5 miles to the north). This is not a fill station – water jugs only. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grill and food storage locker. Firewood is also available for purchase. Cell service is fair in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, water sports, swimming and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see bear, grizzlies, deer and a variety of other forest creatures.
Doris Creek Campground is also nearby.
