Flanners Beach Campground has 41 spacious campsites (22 with electric hookups) and is located in the Neuse River Recreation Area in eastern North Carolina. The campground is set on a bluff overlooking the beautiful Neuse River and is also just 30 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.
Campground amenities include potable water (3 water spigots), flush toilets, showers, trash collection and an RV dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 80 feet). Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate. Mobile/cell phone coverage is good in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. There are also some historic and cultural sites you can visit.
The Flanners Beach / River access has been closed since at least 2020 with no signs of reopening any time soon. As a result, accessing the water is not possible from the campground.

If all trails to beach are blocked off how do you get to the water to kayak sit on the beach- we and other campers could not find our way ?
I would not want to stay if there is no visible way to water
Hi Kelly,
Unfortunately the Flanners Beach / River access has been closed since at least 2020 with no signs of reopening any time soon. As a result, accessing the water is not possible from the campground. We do not know why the trail has been closed.
