Harmon Den Campground has 22 spacious campsites set on a mountainside beneath a forest of mixed hardwoods in the Pisgah National Forest.

The upper loop is reserved for horse campers while the lower loop is reserved for tent camping and small trailers. Harmon Den Horse Campground (lower loop) has 10 camp sites with potable water (hand pump) centrally located for all sites and a vault toilet (double). Each horse site also has a horse stall (up to 4 horses), picnic table, tent pad, lantern post, fire ring and parking for a single vehicle with horse trailer. Also located within the campground is a self-service livestock manure station and watering tank (non-potable) for livestock. The other camping loop also has water, vault toilets and trash cans. Cell service is fair in the area.

Harmon Den Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

There are more than 14 miles of trails designated for hiking and horseback riding and about 40 miles for hiking. Other activities include fishing, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds nearby include Round Mountain, Big Creek and Big Creek Horse Camp (Great Smoky Mountains National Park).
