Linville Falls – Area Recreation

Linville Gorge includes 11,786 acres of rolling hills and beautiful forest. The Lineville River flows through the 1,400 foot deep gorge, often referred to as “The Grand Canyon of North Carolina.”  The area offers spectacular hiking (be sure to visit the 45-foot Linville Falls) and stunning scenery. Outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, birding and wildlife viewing.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic byway with plenty of natural attractions and recreational opportunities for visitors.  Stretching almost 500 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge mountains through North Carolina and Virginia, it encompasses some of the oldest historical sites of both pre-historic and early European settlements.
