Lumber River State Park has 26 campsites in a forested area next to the National Wild and Scenic (Lumber) River. There are two campground locations (about an hour from each other) including Princess Ann and Chalk Banks. Both have access to the river – they only “blackwater river” in the state.
Chalk Banks has 14 single-family campsites and 1 group site. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 75 feet). Each site has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.
Princess Ann has 8 single family (primitive / tent only) walk-to campsites and 1 group site. The walk to from the parking area to the sites range from about 125 to 275 feet. Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grill.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault and flush toilets and trash collection. The park also has a boat ramp (each location), picnic / day-use area, observation deck and hiking trails.

Paddling opportunities on the 11-15 mile river are amazing with opportunities to see an abundance of wildlife and plant life. Other activities include fishing, hiking, and picnicking.
