Merchants Millpond State Park campground offers a variety of camping experiences and is located in the midst of a beautiful forest and close to a picturesque southern swamp. There are 20 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. Five backpacking campsites, group camping and primitive canoe-in sites are also available.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush and vault toilets, hot showers and laundry facilities. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Merchants Millpond State Park – Area Recreation & Info

The park offers an “enchanted forest” of huge cypress trees, Spanish moss and beautiful swamps to explore. Outdoor recreation includes canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.

You may also be interested in First Landing State Park or Medoc Mountain State Park. Flanners Beach Campground is also to the south down by New Bern.
