Oyster Point Overview

Oyster Point Campground has 15 campsites and is on the banks of the Newport River / Intercoastal Waterway. It is also located at the trailhead for the 21-mile Neusiok Trail. The campground is open year-round and is generally very busy (reservations recommended).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, tent pad, lantern post, fire ring and grill. Amenities include drinking water, 2 vault toilets and trash collection. There’s also a small-boat (hand launch) for canoes and kayaks. Cell service is good in the area.

Oyster Point Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The campground is also just a short drive to the towns of Newport, NC and Morehead City, NC. These towns offer full service grocery, retail, and an abundant selection of restaurants.
