Pilot Mountain State Park campground has 49 single-family campsites and is located on the side of a small mountain in a heavily wooded area. Most of the sites are not very level and a few have electric hookups. Sites 2, 28 and 30 are probably the most level and appropriate for RVs. Some sites are tent-only. Canoe campsites are also available at the Park.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp hots. Each campsite also has a table, grill and fire ring.
The Park is famous for its namesake, Pilot Mountain, which rises more than 1,400 feet above the rolling countryside. The Park offers many outdoor activities including horseback riding, hiking, river rafting and canoeing on the Yadkin River, fishing, rock climbing and wildlife viewing.
