Bessey Recreation Complex Campground has 46 single-family campsites and is located next to the Middle Loop River in central Nebraska’s Sandhills. There are 29 with electric hookups, 12 standard (no hookups) and 5 walk-to (tent only). Group camping is also available.
Single-family campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most sites are back-in and all parking spurs are paved (27 to 40 feet). There are 29 campsites with electric hookups. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
The group camping area has 11 electrical hookup sites as well as lots of space for tents. There is also a picnic shelter, dumpster and vault toilets (nearby).
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets (summer months) and vault toilets (all year), showers (summer months), trash collection and a dump station. Cell service is fair in the area.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes OHV trail riding, fishing (at Bessey Fish Pond), kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, basketball, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The world’s largest hand-planted forest is also located here.
