Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area has 3 campgrounds with a total of 227 single-family campsites including 119 with water & electric and 91 full hookup sites. All 3 campgrounds are next to Lake McConaughy. Equestrian and group camping is also available.
Lone Eagle campground is on the north shore and has 84 campsites, with many having either electric or full hookups available. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and a dump station. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Little Thunder is also on the north shore of the lake and has 42 campsites (some with electric or full hookups). Amenities include water, flush toilets, showers and a dump station. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Cedar Vue campground has 117 campsites (75 with hookups) and is also on the north shore of the lake. Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The lake/park also has a marina, miles of sandy beaches, a golf course in the area, boat ramps and boat rentals.
