Lake Minatare State Recreation Area Overview

Lake Minatare SRA is home to Nebraska’s only lighthouse and also has 2 campgrounds with 100 single-family campsites. Butte View campground has 49 campsites and Lighthouse campground has 51 campsites. In addition, the area can accommodate more than 100 units on undesignated primitive sites around the lake.

Both campground have modern facilities including water, flush toilet, hot showers and a dump station. There’s also laundry facilities, a boat ramp, ranger station and firewood Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has electric hookups, a table, fire ring and grate.

Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing, The park is also just minutes from Scotts Bluff National Monument and Chimney Rock.
