Russell Pond Campground has 84 campsites on a hillside overlooking the 40-acre pond in a remote area of the White Mountain National Forest.
The spacious campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers (coin operated), overflow parking and trash collection. There’s also a boat ramp, dock and beach down at the pond. Cell service is good in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Big Rock, Osceola Vista and Waterville.
The White Mountains boast pristine forests, clear mountain streams and rivers and the tallest peaks in the Northeast. The forest encompasses nearly 800,000 acres in New Hampshire and western Maine, and is one of the most popular in the country. Other activities include kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
