Clayton Lake State Park Overview

Clayton Lake State Park campground has 31 campsites spread out in 5 camping loops and is located next to Clayton Lake with views of rolling grasslands, volcanic rocks and sandstone bluffs. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Some have electric hookups and some have water hookups.  Each site also has a table fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault & flush toilets and showers. The park also features an astronomy observatory and visitor center.

Clayton Lake State Park – Area Recreation

Visitors today can enjoy picnicking and some mighty fine fishing at the park’s 170-acre lake. You can also check out  over 500 dinosaur foot prints dating back more than 100 million years!  Other outdoor fun includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
