Angel Lake Campground has 26 spacious campsites next to beautiful Angel Lake and flanked by glacial cirques at an elevation of 8,400 feet.

The campground is generally open mid June through October. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the kind camp host. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is poor in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing. Only non motorized boating is allowed on the lake. Hikers can access the Smith Lake Trail head from the campground. There is also another trailhead just southeast of the campground that will take you to Winchell Lake.

Angel Creek Campground is nearby (3 miles) and you might also like Thomas Canyon Campground (about 87 miles away).
