Big Creek has 6 campsites and is located along a creek at an elevation of 6,600 feet in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. All campsites are first-come, first-serve. Birch, cottonwood and Russian olive trees provide some shade.
Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets and trash collection. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, OHV trail riding, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing. Access to Kingston Canyon and Groves Lake. High clearance vehicle needed.
Other campgrounds in the general area include Hickison Petroglyphs Recreation Area, Kingston and Bob Scott.
