Hilltop Campground (NV) has 35 single-family campsites in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area at an elevation of 8,400 feet. It’s also a 45 minute drive from Las Vegas. The campground is very well maintained with paved roads/spurs and clean vault toilets.

The campground is generally open mid May to early November (weather permitting). Amenities include vault toilets (3) and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is poor at the campground.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Doube-family campsites are 4, 5 and 16. Trailers longer than 25 feet are not recommended due narrow camp roads with tight turns.  Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.  Some sites have stairs from the parking spur to the camping area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Mahogany Grove, Fletcher View and McWilliams.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The North Loop-Mt. Charleston National Recreation Trail begins only 1/4-mile away. Robber’s Roost and the CCC Trailhead are located nearby as well. The Spring Mountains Visitor Center is a short drive from the campground, offering guided hikes and educational programs.
