Lahontan State Recreation Area offers a variety of camping areas next to Lahontan Reservoir in the high-desert of central Nevada. Camping options including developed campsites (Developed 7), equestrian camping, primitive camping (River Camp) and dispersed camping along the beach of the reservoir. Equestrian group camping is also available.
Developed 7 (Silver Springs Beach) is open year-round and has drinking water, showers and flush toilets (late May through September), vault toilets and trash collection. The park also has RV dump stations and picnic/day use areas. Boat launches are available at Silver Springs, Churchill Beach and North Shore Marina. Cell service is fair in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, hunting, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.
