Meadow Valley Campground is nestled in a scenic canyon at the south end of the Mt. Wilson volcanic caldera and near Eagle Valley Reservoir. This BLM campground is pretty rustic/primitive. Campsites are first-come, first-serve and can accommodate tents and small RVs. Trailers and large RVs are not recommended.
The upper campground (in the canyon) has about 4 primitive campsites with a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. There are also 3 tent-only (walk-to sites) with a table, tent pad, fire ring and grill. The lower campground (on the east side of the road) offers overflow / dispersed camping next to Meadow Valley Wash. The overflow sites have tables. Vault toilets are available in the upper loop and there is a dump station very near to the campground. The lower campground has no amenities. Drinking water is not available at either camping area. Cell service is not available in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Spring Valley State Park and Echo Canyon State Park.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, ATV trail riding, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.
