Red Rock Canyon campground is set in a beautiful desert valley within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and is about 20 miles from the “Las Vegas Strip.”
The campground has 53 single-family standard sites (1-53), 6 RV sites (RV1-RV6) and 13 ‘walk to’ (tent only) sites (81-94). The standard sites and RV sites are reservable. The ‘walk to’ sites are first come, first-serve.
Campsites have a table, fire ring and grate. Several also have shade structures, but there are no hookups available. There are also 7 reservable group camping areas available.
The campground has water spigots, vault toilets and an amphitheater. There’s also a nice visitor center a few miles from the campground. And firewood is available for sale from the camp host.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, biking, rock climbing, star gazing, picnicking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.
Valley Of Fire State Park also has two wonderful campgrounds (Atlatl Rock and Arch Rock). Both are first-come first-serve. Fletcher View campground is also nice (up in the mountains).
