Southfork State Recreation Area Overview

South Fork State Recreation Area campground has 25 single-family campsites overlooking the scenic South Fork Reservoir. Group camping is also available.

The campsites are large with plenty of room between neighbors. All campsites also have a shade structure, table, fire ring and grill. Primitive (at-large) camping is also available along the southwest shore of the reservoir. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station for RVs.

South Fork State Recreation Area

The Recreation Area includes 1,650 acres and is surrounded by over 2000 acres of meadow lands and rolling hills. It is popular for camping, fishing, boating, water sports, hunting, wildlife viewing and other summer and winter sports. It is most famous for its trout and bass fishing on Southfork State Reservoir with the Humboldt River being the main tributary.  Other outdoor recreation includes mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

  1. Where do you get the Non motorized boating? there are motorized boats, Jet skies, and kayak’s all over.
