Walker River State Recreation Area includes more than 12,000 acres and has 2 campgrounds next to the East Walker River in western Nevada. The park is also the site of thehe century-old Pitchfork Ranch, located near Yerington, Nevada.

The Riverbend campground has 16 sites suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Quail Run Campground has 19 sites with water & electric hookups.   Group camping is also available with 6 RV sites (water & electric hookups) in the Quail Run loop.

Park/camping amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station. Each campsite also has a table, shade ramada, fire ring and grill. Cell service is fair in the area.

There are also four 1-bedroom cabins available. Each has a toilet, shower, sink and beds that can accommodate up to 6 people. Each cabin also has an eating area, table/chairs, a full-size refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, heating and AC. Linens and towels are not provided.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hunting, biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
